WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS
PRESTON
Preston has been working on reviewing all of his karate hand and weapon katas. He wants to make sure he keeps up his skill as a 2nd degree black belt. He has also been helping his younger brother, Caleb, to work on self defense, punching and kicking drills. Preston is considering offering a self defense course for people who live around here so they will be more confident in keeping themselves safe and also to earn some money offering a small course after all his years of study. He is looking into ways to create the class, where to hold it, and how to market it.
MARISSA
Marissa wrote an essay for her language arts this week. The topic was "Why small and simple things are so important." She really enjoyed writing the essay and couldn't wait to send it to her mom and grandma to read. The next day, she asked for a ideas for essay topics and decided to write another essay. Her new topic is "Should students have limited time on the internet?" She seemed to have some pretty strong opinions about the topic so it will be fun and interesting to read her essay when she finishes.
Why small and simple things matter
CALEB
Caleb was so excited to finish reading the 5th Harry Potter book. This one took us such a long time to finish as a family read aloud. Everyone was so glad to finish reading and get to watch the movie together. Caleb was especially excited and cannot wait to start on book 6!
