May 4 - 8

MATH

Preston:

Preston completed four assignments in his math book this week.  He also practiced math facts on the MathSeeds app.   

Marissa:

Marissa completed four assignments in her math book this week.  She also practiced math facts on the MathSeeds app.  

Caleb:

Caleb completed three assignments on the MathSeeds app this week.  He also watched a YouTube video for his “Math through Music and Movement” class at ZigArts. 

LANGUAGE ARTS

Preston:

Preston completed four assignments in his language arts book this week.  He also completed three modules in TTRS and 30 minutes of reading each day.  He is currently reading the 7th book in the Box Car Children series.  

Marissa: 

Marissa completed four assignments in her language arts book this week.  She also completed two modules in TTRS and 20 minutes of reading each day.  

Caleb:

Caleb completed three lessons in his “Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons” book.  He also completed lessons on the Reading Eggs app.  

We finished reading "Anne of Green Gables" as a family and bought the movie to watch for movie night.  We had such a great time reading this book together!

AMERICAN HISTORY

Preston, Marissa & Caleb:

The kids watched a Brain Pop video about the American Revolution for American History this week. They also recited the Pledge of Allegiance and practiced singing the "Preamble" and "America the Beautiful."

Marissa and Caleb watched a YouTube video from his "I Love America" class about astronauts.

ENTREPRENUER (The Art of Business)

Preston, Marissa & Caleb:

All three kids watched another episode of BizKids called "What Is a Biz Kid?" this week for their entrepreneur class.  

They also practiced making art of their choice to sell in the future.

I believe that also has something to do with Ninjago, but I'm not sure on that one.  ;)

OPTIONAL (Karate, Tumbling, Musikgarten)

Preston:

Preston attended two karate classes over Zoom this week.  He also rode his bike, practiced basketball and jumped on the pogo stick.  He can do so many jumps in a row now!    

Marissa:

Marissa rode her bike and scooter, jumped on the trampoline and jumped on the pogo stick this week for PE.

Caleb:

Caleb listened to Musikgarten songs in the car and at home this week.  He also saw and heard a woodpecker while we were on a bike ride and we stopped to take a video to send to his teacher since they learned about woodpeckers earlier this year.  

OTHER

Preston, Marissa & Caleb:

We had fun on May 4th (Star Wars Day).

We read books and watched movies and did a few low-key activities to make it fun!

Marissa and Caleb made a fort outside to read more books.

Sidewalk chalk has been another fun activity we have enjoyed this week.
