May 11 - 15

MATH

Preston:

Preston completed four assignments in his math book this week.  He also practiced math facts on the MathSeeds app.  He is getting faster and faster.   

Marissa:

Marissa completed four assignments in her math book this week.  She also practiced math facts on the MathSeeds app.  

Caleb:

Caleb completed three lessons on the MathSeeds app this week.  We also read a book called "Prehistoric Creature Count."

LANGUAGE ARTS

Preston:

Preston completed four assignments in his language arts book this week.  He also completed three modules in TTRS and 30 minutes of reading every day.  

Marissa: 

Marissa completed four assignments in her language arts book this week.  She also completed two assignments in TTRS and 20 minutes of reading every day.  

Caleb:

Caleb completed three lessons in his “Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons” book.  He also completed lessons on the Reading Eggs app.  

AMERICAN HISTORY

Preston, Marissa & Caleb:

All three kids watched a Brain Pop video this week for history.  They watched a video called "American Indians."  They also listened to songs from Musikgarten about American Indians to continue their study.  

ENTREPRENUER (The Art of Business)

Preston, Marissa & Caleb:

All three kids watched an episode of Biz Kids for their entrepreneur class this week.  It was called "How to Achieve Your Financial Goals."

They also practiced creating art of their choice.

Preston did another sketch of Lloyd from Ninjago and colored him in with colored pencils

Marissa completed a self portrait that her art teacher asked her to make

She also had an assignment from her language arts' book that told her to use

the colors orange, yellow and brown in a painting.  She painted this cute giraffe!

 Caleb made an easy duck with paints this week

He also worked on a sketched (but ended up getting a lot of help 

from Marissa when he got discouraged)

OPTIONAL (Karate, Tumbling, Musikgarten)

Preston:

Preston attended three karate classes over Zoom this week.  He also practiced basketball and rode his bike for PE.   

Marissa:

Marissa jumped on the trampoline, jumped using the pogo stick, rode her bike and rode her scooter for PE this week.  

Caleb:

Caleb listened to songs from Musikgarten in the car and on the computer this week.  We went back to old CDs about American Indians to go along with the video we watched about American Indians this week.  

OTHER

Preston, Marissa & Caleb:
Our plans for a vacation changed so we ended up having a camping staycation over Mother's Day weekend.  We had a great time sleeping in the tent, playing in a blow up pool, going to Willard Bay and Echo Reservoir to swim and fish, and making tin foil dinners, hot dogs and s'mores.  Lots of family fun!

We have also been playing a lot with Lego's.  I haven't documented nearly as many creations as I wish I had, but here is one cool one Preston completed came up with on his own.
