February 6 - 10

WEEKLY HIGHLIGHTS

PRESTON

Preston finished reading "The Hiding Place" for his Heroes class.  He also watched the movie "Dunkirk."  He is learning so much about WWI and WWII.

MARISSA

Marissa participated in the Shakespeare feast this week.  She got to be at the main table because she was crowned a queen in the fall.  We all had stew, fruit, cheese, crackers and roasted apples and pears with cream for dessert.  It was a great evening!

CALEB

Caleb had a really fun class this week in Heroic Youth.  He learned about disabilities.  He read a book about a girl who climbed the stairs of the White House using only her arms to show the need for access for people in wheelchairs.  He also read a book about a boy in Ghana who was born with only one leg.  He would hop all the way to school, which was over three miles.  He and his peers learned a little about what it  might be like to be blind, deaf or to not have legs or arms to use.  It was a really meaningful class.

OTHER

YELLOWSTONE

We took a trip to Yellowstone this week.  The kids got to sled, go snowmobiling, build snow caves and play in the hot tub.  We had a great time!
